I've looked at this article and found it would be easier to just use another PDF Reader. Spending a few hours manually restoring all my .exe files is not what I would like to spend my afternoon doing. Thanks for the tut it was excellent.

Before I go is the problem a virus or just bad engineering by Adobe with regards to Windows 7? I thought it was a Virus.

Hello LittlePuff, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I need more details about what is happening before I can say what the issue may be.

If none of your EXE files will work, then you can download and merge the exe download in this tutorial to restore all of that file extension's associations and settings.

    Hope this helps for now,

    Hello Shawn,

When I go to Start | Run | %appdata% or %temp% it's opening "Open with" Window. What could be the broken association ?

    Thanks !

    Hello Shyam,

Are you able to manually navigate to these two hidden folder locations and they be there?

    %appdata%
    C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Roaming

    %temp%
    C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\Temp

You might see if using the folder and Directory downloads may help.

Yes manually I'm able to navigate to that location. Just the Start run doesn't work I tried Folder and directory. No go

Ok. How does it work when just using the Start Menu search box and pressing enter instead of using Run?

I'm not sure what association would be for that. If it just started recently, then you could do a system restore using a restore point dated before this started to try and fix it.
