    Hello Sammy,

The critical part is to export and import it from your desktop to avoid permission issues.

How does doing it with a .vsf file work for you?

Unfortunately, not even the .vcf approach worked. I tried them all and copied the files to my desktop. Nada.

    Oh well.

    Contacts in Windows Live Mail

The contacts data in windows live mail is stored under Windows Live(not Windows Live Mail) folder. Note that before going to this folder you should change file options in order to see system files in advanced settings under "folder and search options" - "view" accordingly. Then go to the "c:/users/user_name_of you/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Live/Contacts/Default". You will see a hidden system folder named "DBStore". Copy this folder to the same place in your new Windows 7 installation. You will see all contacts in your new Windows Live Mail.
