How to Add or Remove "See more results" Link in Start Menu Search Box
InformationThis will show you how to add or remove the See more results link from showing when users perform a search in the Windows 7 Start Menu search box.
You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do the steps in this tutorial.
EXAMPLE: "See more results" link Added or Removed
OPTION ONETo Add or Remove "See more results" Link using a REG File Download
NOTE: This option will affect all users on the computer.
1. To Add "See more results" Link to Start Menu Search Box
NOTE: This is the default setting.
A) Click on the Download button below to download the file below.2. To Remove "See more results" Link from Start Menu Search Box
Add_Start_Menu_See-More-Results_Search_Link.regB) Go to step 3.
A) Click on the Download button below to download the file below.3. Save the .reg file to the desktop.
Remove_Start_Menu_See-More-Results_Search_Link.reg
4. Right click on the downloaded .reg file and click on Merge.
5. Click on Run, Yes, Yes, and OK when prompted.
6. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply.
7. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
OPTION TWOTo Add or Remove "See more results" Link in the Local Group Policy Editor
1. Open the all users, specific users or groups, or all users except administrators Local Group Policy Editor for how you want this policy applied.That's it,
2. In the left pane, click on to expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates, and Start Menu and Taskbar. (see screenshot below)
3. In the right pane, right click on Remove See More Results / Search Everywhere link and click on Edit. (see screenshot above)
4. To Add "See more results" Link to Start Menu Search Box
A) Select (dot) either Not Configured or Disabled. (see screenshot below step 6)5. To Remove "See more results" Link from Start Menu Search Box
NOTE: Not Configured is the default setting.
B) Go to step 6.
A) Select (dot) Enabled. (see screenshot below step 6)6. Click on OK. (see screenshot below)
7. Close the Local Group Policy Editor window.
