Have you completed the step to install all Important and Optional Windows Updates after enabling Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware?

Is the driver still missing in Device Manager after all updates are installed?

If so import it from your model's Support Downloads webpage here: HP ProBook 4530s Notebook PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

The fingerprint driver is here: HP ProBook 4530s Notebook PC*-* Validity Fingerprint Driver - HP Business Support Center

actually i lost this function of validity finger print sensor a week ago when i was trying to fully recover the notebook from hp recovery manager by pressing f11 . then after its fully recovered i found out that i lost it .but before that its working perfectly . i always found an unknown device stuff in category of USB serial bus controller in device manager , even though its being considered as newly recovered notebook without yet attaching any USB device to notebook .then i thought if i full clean reinstall windows on my notebook , this issue will be solved but still not in progress, not working finger print sensor and still i found an unknown device in device manager .,as i already know where to download its drivers but before i download hp protect tools with finger print sensor drivers , DOn't you think that there should be any biometric category in device manager before i download any driver and tools related to finger print sensor ?

oh Got your message so early and exactly what i did what you said by automatically get recommend drivers and updates for your hardware , by default its On . i just got updates of synaptic mouse pad touch, and lan and wireless drivers all automatically, but then i found error in base system drivers which i found that its related to jmicron media card reader and so called hp experts gave me this driver when i was connected to them throough live chat help. but not progress for only this finger print reader.

So is the fingerprint reader working now with that driver?

Let us know if any other functions are missing or imperfect.

no its not working ,i always found unknown device in USB serial bus controller list since i started to fully recover it a week ago. should it not be there a biometric category in device manager ? before i install any driver and tools related to drivers ? . and is it dead now? and then what is unknown device in device manager ? . and hey i think i found the original manufacture of my finger print sensor . its called as "Validity" company for my validity finger print sensor device and here is the link , you must check it Validity Sensors Inc. | Fingerprint Sensors for Smartphones, Tablets and PCs but i donot know what to do? , is there any firmware lost related to validity sensor and i already tried many times this validity finger print sensor drivers with hp protect tools . not working now?

What happens when you attempt to install the fingerprint driver which I linked to you which came from the Downloads page for your exact PC model. This is where you should be looking. Go back to HP Downloads webpage and confirm your exact model is being searched, then download the Fingerprint driver and install it.

If there is another missing Device which doesn't reveal the make/model, trace it yourself using Hardware Identification

nothing goes wrong when i try to install drivers and hp protect tools, i always install drivers from hp official drivers download page for windows home premium 64 bit . the link which you gave me is the same link for my notebook hp probook 4530s which i already know. driver installed correctly with no notification of error but i could not found category of biometric of any sensory stuff in device manager . Like i remember in 2011 when i used to recover notebook by pressing f11 using recovery manager , then i think at that time there never was any problem with finger print reader and yeah there was a biometric category in device manager . i think so . but now i got nothing .not working .

What I do in that case is go through each category to see if I can find Device hiding somewhere.

On View tab in Device Manager "Show Hidden Devices," see what shows up.

Try installing the driver again to see if it actually installed. If it installed it is there somewhere. It may need enabling.

Look also under Software for additional software or hotfixes for the device.

If you cannot solve this or do without the fingerprint scanner then you may need to run HP System Recovery

naah , i am on to this now, i think i can do something to enable it bcoz in credential manager its stopped . and its nothing to do with hp recovery manager bcoz i cleaned the whole hard disk and i donot want to use idiotic recovery manager of hp which lack all of these functionality to recover system in hp probook 4530s , although i tried 3 times their recovery manager by pressing f11 . but i am on to something about this issue and will keep you posted here if it resolves.
