Windows Does Not Start After Sleep

information   Information
There seem to be quite a few people with this problem, so I wrote this tutorial to quickly solve it. This is a problem with the Sleep mode that desktop computers use. Normally, Sleep is the only option, and Hibernate is not available to desktops. The problem appears to be caused by the Hybrid Sleep option (this simply sets the computer to sleep, but stores a hibernate file in case of a power loss). This tutorial will show you how to both enable Hibernate, as well as fix this problem.

Lets get started!

1) Open up Power Options by either searching for it from the start menu, or through the Control Panel

2) Select whichever Power Plan you use, and select Change Plan Settings

3) Make sure that the Sleep option is set to never, then click on Change Advanced Power Settings

4) Scroll down to the Sleep options, and Change "Allow hybrid sleep" to OFF

5) Select OK, then Save Changes. You are all finished!

Tip   Tip
Please make sure to test this, and let me know if this does not work for you! I hope you like the tutorial, and I hope it fixed your problem!

That is depressing. What else is wrong with it?

Yes it is. Mostly, when I return back from sleep I get a black screen. Hmm.

I actually had the same thing happen to me this morning. Some time last night, my computer woke up, but when I looked, it was a black screen. It seemed that somehow it got changed to a different Power Plan. So you might want to check that too. I just set all mine to be the same, so you may want to try that.

What do you mean? Disabling Hybrid sleep fixes this. Once you do that, sleep and hibernate both work.

Well this is rather workaround problem than solution.I think offered sugestions cause more consuming energy by computer than on default settings during sleeping because not all computer components will be in sleep mode,I think only video card and monitor will be in sleep during sleep mode , remain computer components -not.
So before trying advices from this tutorial I'd prefer update drivers for chipset and BIOS

The reason this is posted as a solution is because it appears to be a bug. We have not found a solution, but this works great.

I have also tried a BIOS update, as well as numerous other things, to no avail. This worked.
