Yeah, that is odd that it's not applied to a few random ones like that. You might see if rebuilding the icon cache and resetting the thumbnail cache may help if that's the issue.

How to Change the Windows 7 Default Folder Icon

I must make a couple of comments on this Tutorial: 1) Brink, I am very grateful that someone is making an effort to help. I do appreciate it. 2) Unfortunately, some of your directions (as I find in many help pages/ tutorials / etc) are so far beyond the understanding of most people who use computers but are not operating systems or administrators experts or even knowledgeable. For example, in this tutorial, in Step 4., under Option One - you say "In the left pane, right click on the Explorer key, click New and Key". Most people are NOT even familiar with the registry let alone how it is structured. Where might one find "New" and "Key"? What about if you said something like, "from the menu . . . . . . . . ".

Hello Yawrood,

Yeah, I try to make them as easy as possible to follow while at the same time trying to keep the text down to a minimum to not have so much to read. I'll add "in the context menu" to the end of that to help though.

Plus, I'm always here to help answer any questions someone may have.

Hello Dan, and welcome to Seven Forums.

For that, you could use the method in the tutorial below instead.

Not Working

This method is only working when the view method is list or small icons. While making large folder view it shows the windows default folder icon. So Is there any way to fix this.

Hello Keshav, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The method in the tutorial below would work better for that.
