Sharing Folders between WIN7 64-bit PC & WIN7 32-bit Laptop

I attempted to follow above tutorial when attempting to share a folder in setup described in the heading to this post after getting a "no permission" message.

When I clicked the SECURITY tab I got a different result from that indicated in the tutorial. In my case there was no section entitled "Group or user names" shown there. The page was entirely blank except for the message " you do not have permission to view or edit this object's permission settings"

How to I bring up the Security page indicated in this tutorial ?

I have tremendous problems sharing my HD

Every disk is set to "Everyone" local, network, but still some disk when I go to my laptop I get "access denied", but when I try to follow your instructions to check,, the SHARE in #9 is greyed out so will not open. i have about 8tb of USB on my HP desktop that I want to "host" to my laptop but the 6 USB will not all share the same time and one disk will never share and I have checked every parm and they are all the same, Even made EVERYONE the "owner"

Any advice/

First make sure you have identical user names and passwords on BOTH computers. Make sure that at least one folder is shared on both computers.

It doesn't matter if it's XP - XP or XP - Windows 7 or Windows 7 - Windows 7 you need to have a user name and password on each computer and they must be the same.

Make sure both computers are members of the same WORKGROUP

Thanks

Yes, I use my name on both and the name of my laptop is 'laptop' and my desktop is 'HP'. I removed my logon password on both, so I just hit enter instead of a password. Some disk share pretty good and they are the same brand and can find no deltas. It has me stumped as XP and Vista did not act like this. Even the OS is HP - Home Premium and SP 1. Hardware is identical as the PC's are both HP Pavilion are are within 1 month age. Of course, one is laptop and one desktop.

the only issue is the "owner' [creator] of which one creates the files and name of the PC's

You need to have a matching password on both computers
