Welcome to Windows 7 Forums. Our forum is dedicated to helping you find solutions with any problems, errors or issues you are experiencing with Windows 7. The Windows 7 forum also covers news and updates and has an extensive Windows 7 tutorial section that covers a wide range of tips and tricks.
I would still recommend doing the repair install. It will be easier than trying to manually extract the corrupted files from your Windows 7 installation DVD to replace them on your computer.
Click on the repair install link here for more details on how to do this. You would use the same retail Windows 7 installation disk if you have one. You can open About Windows to see what Windows 7 edition you have though.
