Scrap that, learned to read the code before posting. Thanks for putting the explanation down there. But I think you should take that out of the registry code for 2 reasons:

1. A novice may get confused and include it in the .reg file. (Not sure that this would make a difference but just saying)
2. It's not very clear.

Thanks for this anyway..... nice for someone to pack it all together.

Hi Vernon,

As I mention in my instructions, Please save your registry before you make these changes. To do so, type in start menu ''regedit''. Select file and export. (Name the file Full registry around 35 megs). You may also write down original settings and reset.

before you do this (which BTW is 99.9% safe) you can export your registry.

In search of start menu, type regedit and press enter. In the registry, select file/Export. This will export your original registry as a .reg file.

Save it to a location that you can easily find it and namre it simply Registry.reg.

If for some reason, you wish to return to your default settings, simply go to that .reg file/double clic on the registry.reg file and accept instructions on the screen.

That's it.

I did this on 1 of my computers and it made a huge difference. I went to do it on another and it opens up into Notepad, instead of Regedit? I can't figure out how to change it. Any help?

Thanks for that registry save process from above, but what if someone wanted to set there reg file back to when it was 1st installed? Would we have to do what you described when we 1st loaded Windows 7?
