Seems the way to go. But I gather the free version is an installed program only and you need the paid version to make a bootable linux/winpe? I wonder if the free version can be installed on and convert an OS HDD which is dynamic?

They talk about a TrialPay deal to get the Pro free but this seems odd to me.

Hello Michael,

Yeah, the free version requires installation. Only the Pro paid version has an available download to use at boot.
Compare EaseUS Partition Master Editions
However, if you still happen to be in Windows with it as a dynamic disk, then you will still be able to use the free version to convert it back to basic.

TrialPay looks like a 30-day money back type deal. You might also Google to see if you may be able to find another free program that may let you do this at boot.

Hello and greetings to the forum. Let me tell you that the information here is very detailed and helpful and i would like to thank the people that regularly give their input on here.

The reason im posting is because I ran into a few problems while converting my dynamic disk to basic as per the tutorial. I am using Easeus Partition master.

I have C drive(boot& OS), D drive with HP recovery & E drive with HP Tools. I also have about 100GB unallocated space.

Now after following your instructions for Easeus Partition master, it shows me only Disk 1 with all the partitions on it. When I try to convert to basic, it does the normal checking and then tells me "Partition Error: The disk is boot disk and you may corrupt your boot disk etc, you want to continue: yes, no" Now i was just beign careful and wanted to ask the forum if someone faced a similar error message? and if so what should i do? or maybe i am doing somethign wrong?

Below is a screenshot.

Hello Lazrer, and welcome to Seven Forums.

To be on the safe side, I would recommend that you backup anything that you do not want to lose first.

If you have not already, I would also recommend that you create a set of HP recovery discs or USB to be able use to do a factory restore of Windows 7 in case something should happen where you can't use the recovery partition.

Next, since this is on a boot/OS drive, I would recommend to also create a system repair disc incase you may need to use it at boot to run a startup repair afterwards.

Thank you for the reply. I have already created a system repair disk, and backed the partition onto DVD's.

What you suggest I do to change my disk to basic again? Shall I run the recovery disks?

regards
L

Now that everything is backed up in case you may have to do a factory restore if this doesn't work for you, you could go ahead and try doing OPTION FOUR in the tutorial to allow it to convert it to basic.
