I've only noticed a couple of things with IE10 since installing it yesterday.

First, the good news for me: Wow, it's blazing fast :). That may be due solely to a fresh IE install but it's much faster than IE9 on my PC.

One issue, I think, may be related to a JavaScript issue at the NASA JPL site. I visit that site daily and it has a "top story" player on the front page. It was playing with IE9 & 8 but doesn't play with IE10. I contacted the JPL site mgr about it.

The video clip plays ok (Adobe Flash Player) on the same page.

I did a little searching about IE10 and JavaScript issues were mentioned in a few places so that may be what I'm seeing at the JPL site.

The other issue is one that I don't think was present with IE9 or 8.

When I delete a url from the Address Bar pull-down list (I access that with the F4 key), it's removing that url from my "Favorites" folder and no longer is in the Favorites menu (alt-C).

Has this always been the case with previous IE versions? My memory may be fuzzy about this one but I don't recall that happening with IE9.

No, only Norton 360. I installed that in Dec '12. It worked ok with IE9 but I'm not sure if Norton has a compatibility issue with IE10. I'm going to disable my nightly HDD scan tonight which also does a 'net temp file cleanup, and see what happens in the morning with IE10.

I read another thread at this forum about IE10 issues and it appears that others are seeing a similar problem with their 'net page passwords being deleted with IE10.

Do my check-boxes look ok in the screencap?

Yep, your IE10 browsing history settings are correct to not clear your cookies. It'll be interesting to see if it's Norton clearing them.

Thanks for the info on the options. I'll post in the morning when I check out my passwords at my daily 'net pages.

I do recall noting the following with IE9 after I set up the options with the "delete browsing history on exit".

It seemed to delete the browsing history in the Favorites (alt-c) menu and the address bar history overnight, or seemingly on a 12-hr schedule.

For example, using IE9, I observed this:

I would exit IE9, then launch it later the same day, and my browsing history would still be present in IE9. However, when I launched IE9 the next morning, the history would be deleted.

With IE10, the browsing history is deleted at exit.

I checked IE10 this morning and it's still deleting my username/password info at my 'net pages.

I went with a "plan B" last night and allowed my Norton 360 nightly scan to run but I edited it yesterday evening before it ran overnight, and unchecked most of the "temp file cleanup" options in Norton. This is a screencap of the "Tuneup PC" section in Norton 360.

The first time, I unchecked the "internet" file options. Now I have the "Windows file" option unchecked. I'll run it tonight & see what happens.

I did launch IE10 late last night before my nightly Norton scan ran on my HDD. My 'net usernames/passwords were still intact at my sites.

When I signed into IE10 a few hours after the nightly Norton scan completed, all of my usernames/passwords were cleared.

If I get the same results in the morning, I'll disable the overnight scan completely although I don't see a reason that the Norton HDD scan would affect IE10 passwords. I'm thinking it's a difference between IE9 & 10 with Windows 7.

If that's what it appears after eliminating Norton, I'll then uncheck the "delete history on exit" option in IE10 and try that but I'm not expecting that action to retain the password info in IE10.

I'll uninstall IE10 and revert back to IE9 if these steps don't fix the username/password clearing issue.

I'm thinking it may be the disk defrag by Norton that's doing it. As a test, don't run it to see if it's still getting cleared.

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought of that one. I disabled all of my "Tuneup" options for the overnight scan tonight. I was never running the "Registry Cleanup" option since I installed Norton, wasn't comfortable with that option.

I also run a daily overnight MalwareBytes scan. I didn't mention that before since I figure it's not related to the IE10 issue. I've been running that one as well as the Norton scan during my IE9 use with no username/password clearing issues.
