Nice tutorial archie :) a little more explanation about PCIe Link State Power Management in the information section of the tutorial would help user who are not aware of it, like me.
In my desktop pc it is Moderate power savings so should i change it to maximum cause TDP of my card is 188W. Would it help save energy?

    Hello Ali,

I added more info in the tutorial for PCIe Link State Power Management to help answer your question. :)

    Nice tutorial Arc,

But when i Run a Power Efficiency Diagnostics Report and see the results, it says the PCIe Link State Power Management (ASPM) is already disabled by the operating system and the OS has a well known incompatibility, might be because a GPU card is installed.

Whenever i disable/enable in my Power Plan settings, it has no effect!

    Hello NoN,

You might check your BIOS settings to see if it may have an option to disable the PCIe link state as well. If it does, it will override the power settings in Windows.

    Hope this helps. :)

    Thanks!

I'll check that tomorrow & edit...getting late around here!

    EDIT:
I'm using iGPU with Lucidlogix Virtu MVP, for iGPU & dGPU Virtualization.

I Think i"ll have to disable the Intel Technology Render Standby in Bios Settings, then in my Power Plan Settings disable the PCIe Link State Power Management.

But at the moment i do not know surely if that is any kind of a benefit for that Link state Power Management. It should mean both are running constantly.

Can't find PCI Express and Link State Power Management

    hello,

following your instructions i can't find the entry for Link State Power Management inside the pci category.

    (1. Open your advanced power plan settings in Vista/Windows 7 or Windows 8 .
    2. Scroll down and expand PCI Express and Link State Power Management)

i looked already in my ami bios of my asrock P67 Pro3 motherboard and saw that everything seems to be enabled.

    any idea what to do?
the energy report claims the Link State Power Management still as a failure.

    thanks
