Greetings ...
My MM is from an early version of Vista. I have no problems with video or audio with my version and the 2.6. You may have a codec problem or need an upgrade on your video card?
I did use the link you sent for the 2.6 and plug-ins and have good audio.
Good Luck
Hi there. I went through the instructions to install Movie Maker in Windows 7 and it seems to have worked for the most part. My problem is that though I can bring up Movie Maker, I can't import any files to it. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Can anyone tell me where I can download WMM files from Windows Vista because I'm afraid to lose important files... Plsssss...
My PC is a W 7 home premium 64 bit (always was). I did a WMM 6.0 (Vista)-64 bit download some time ago.* Many problems with this my wmm 6.0 -64 bit! I checked this thread forum and i did the steps from the 1st page -basically i did the step 3 -that download; Then i extracted the zip content into my c:\Programs\ Movie Maker folder -not the (x86). Then i «run as administrator» the install moviemk dlls.cmd, but the cmd told me something like this: "can't find the binary way" (sorry, my PC is in portuguese & i'm not so good with english ó.ò). After read too many posts in here, i kinda went confuse (& i'm kinda noob); So, please, anyone can simplify to me wich attachments or downloads do i have to get for this my particular quest (remember the issue above in this my post*). Thank you.
Many people have tried Windows "Live" Movie Maker and complained about the lack of a traditional timeline, loss of narration ability, no view of music waveform, etc. In addition, if you have been building up a library of custom titles/transitions/effects under Windows Movie Maker 6.0 (from Vista), you've probably found you can't use these in WLMM since the rendering architecture has changed again.
The good news is you can still use the latest version of Windows Movie Maker 6.0 from Vista. You can do this manually by copying the files from a Vista machine, registering some DLLs and creating a shortcut in your start menu. Or you can just use the installers I created below: (and below there was: Movie Maker 6.0 for Windows 7 (64-bit) and MM 6.0 for W7 (32-bit) Downloads. ___/ So i didn't even had to copy any file, i simply made the download (the 64-bit) and automatically it went into C:\Program Files\Movie Maker (not the (x86) program folder). For this, does my WMM 6.0 problems got something to do with any download or "extra-step", administrator issue, etc i also must do?
does the target folder for copying the windows.old moviemaker files have to be c:/Program files ????
I had Vista 32 bit and now I have Windows 7 64 bit, I followed the instructions and I get an error when click the shortcut. The only thing that is different is that I was not able to copy the 2 folders (Shared and en-US), for some reason they are not copy. I assume is the 32 vs 64, what can I do? Can you please help me??? I need Windows Movie Maker 6.0!!
now have moviemaker sorted thanks to the dll script... thanks!
how can i get the movie maker project file (mswmm) to open iin movie maker by default. (at the moment it isnt opened by anything)
