Hi whs - see if Skydrive will take these.

Rt click and extract each .zip to the same directory - e.g. downloads. Then extract the .001 with 7 - Zip - it will find the rest.

SIW2, thanks for the tip. But I really only uploaded it for the 2 people who had originally asked for it. And File Factory works, it is just a bit of a pain. They constantly harass you to go Pro - even send emails all the time. It was the only one time I used them because normally I go with Skydrive. But they have one advantage - they accept a 300MB file for a single upload versus 50MB at Skydrive.

    (1) I have Vista 64 installed on a second computer. Where do I find the WMM6 files?

    (2) Is WMM6 any different or better than WMM2.6 that can be downloaded easily?

    (3) Is there a way to register dlls without downloading an extra file?

I am not sure what links you're referring to.

I do not wish to download the files. That's why I installed Vista on a second machine. I was wondering if you could tell me which files are needed.

Secondly, is this worth the trouble....isn't WMM 2.6 just as good as WMM 6?

OK, understand. I thought with this question: " Where do I find the WMM6 files? " you were asking for a way to download WMM 6. I have used WMM 6 a lot and 2.6 a little. I find 6 a lot better - but maybe that is only because I am used to it. I even installed it on my Windows7 machine because the Win7 WMM is dismal.

And I do not quite understand what you mean with that: " I was wondering if you could tell me which files are needed."

Just another thought. What are you actually trying to do with WMM.

If you want edit, crop or split existing movies, then I would recommend another tool. The WMM output quality is not that great because of the transformations it makes and publishing a long movie takes forever.

If however you just want to make e.g. a picture album, then WMM is OK - although I prefer to use PowerPoint for that.

I just want a program to experiment with until I get Adobe Premier Pro. With Vista there were a couple of effects I liked that I did not find in the Win 7 version. I just tried v2.6, and it did not open my Vista WMM projects, so it looks like I do need WMM6.

So which files do I need to copy from Vista over to the Win 7 machine? Everything under C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player?

Yes, you need the whole WMM folder from the Vista Program Files and put that into the Win7 Program Files as to the instructions above.
