Thanks for the tutorial...
But I can not connect the remote XP pc (and its files) unless I turn Windows Firewall off on windows 7 (7100).
Using Vista I do not have to turn firewall off to connect the same remote pc.
Please advise.

Sorry for my English.

I'm having the same problem. I either need to (i) disable the firewall in order to access shared files on the remote machine, or (ii)check the "Use Default gateway on remote network" check box under New VPN properties-->networking-->TCP/IPv4 properies-->advanced-->IP Settings, but this of course disconnects me from the internet as it tells the internet browsers to use this VPN connection to connect to the internet and not the actual internet connection from the LAN.

Anyone has any clue will be appreciated, as I didn't have this problem with Vista before.
Thanks in advance

all right I got things a little further , but i have one more question.

when you go to the properties of your VPN connection then hit the security tab it says the type of VPN is automatic , does any one know what exactly that is so that im not forwarding any more ports than I need to.

Doubts

Hey there,
i have an issue..
while i have classes i live in a house at the gates of my university and from here i can connect to its internet..the problem is that the connection blocks several websites (and for that i use a program named UltraSurf) and online games..
i asked in the forum of a certain mmorpg and they suggested me to set up a VPN connection to try to dodge this blockage..
well, i followed your steps on outgoing and incoming VPN connections and it didnt work..but i am wondering, to which computer should i connect using VPN?

can you help me in this one?
thx a lot^^
