How to Change "Problem Reporting Settings" in Windows 7 and Windows 8

Sending problem reports to Microsoft helps Windows 7 and Windows 8 to check and identify problems and notify you about any found solutions.

This tutorial will show you how to change the Problem Reporting Settings in Windows 7 and Windows 8 to when and what is sent to Microsoft, or to turn off checking for solutions.

EXAMPLE: Check for Solutions
NOTE: This is what you will see when Windows 7 is checking for a solution for a problem report.

Here's How:
1. Do step 2 or 4 below for what you would like to do.

2. Click/tap on the Action Center (flag) icon in the notification area of the taskbar, click/tap on Open Action Center, and go to step 4 below. (see screenshot below)

3. Open the Control Panel (icons view) in Windows 7 or Windows 7, click on the Action Center icon, and go to step 4 below.

4. Click/tap on the Maintenance drop down arrow to expand it, then click/tap on the Settings link under the Check for solutions to problem reports section. (see screenshot below)

5. Do step 6 or 7 below for what you would like to do.

6. To Change Only Your Report Settings
NOTE: This will be grayed out unless you (administrator) have selected the Allow each user to choose settings option in step 7 below, you have error reporting turned on and/or enabled.

A) Select when to check for solutions to problem reports, and click/tap on OK. (See screenshots above)
B) Go to step 8.
7. To Change All Users Report Settings
NOTE: You will need to be logged in as an administrator to be able to change the settings in this step.
A) Click/tap on the Change report settings for all users link. (See screenshots below step 6)
B) Select what problem report settings you want to use for all users on the computer, and click/tap on OK. (See screenshot below)

C) Do step 6.
8. When done, close the Action Center window. (See screenshot below step 3)
