Thank you for your help.
Hello Andrew, and welcome to Seven Forum.

Yes, just uninstalling the program is all that you will need to remove the program. However, you will only be able to use OPTION THREE to be able to change the log on screen from within Windows 7 without a program. If you wanted the default log on screen back, then be sure to change it back using the program before uninstalling it to make it easy.

Personally the program is completely safe. It does not run at all until you manually run it to change the log on screen, so you do not have to worry about a program that is always running in the background. Plus, it just makes changing the log on screen so much easier without fear of making a mistake in OPTION THREE that may cause other issues.

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate: x64 (SP1)

Thank you very much Brink, it worked flawless!

Is there any chance that this could decrease the performance on booting?

Best Regards,

You're most welcome Frederik. I have not ever noticed any decrease in the load time of the log on screen afterwards. However, I suppose that if the custom image you used was much over the default image's 2.5 MB in size, then it might take a second longer to load.

Hello ManGFx64,

By default, the Windows 7 Background Changer program displays the backgrounds from within the C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper folder and all of it's subfolders.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (7600)

I'm not sure if anyone else has posted this already but i found that if you edit your .theme file with a txt editor to read SetLogonBackground=1 it will change your OEMBackground registry key automatically. Put your background image in the oobe/info/backgrounds folder as described above. Just another way to do it for those who might be hesitant to change their registry or run a file.
