    Hello Werty,

    Yes, to a DVD.

If you wanted to do so to a USB, then you would need to use PART 2 in the tutorial below instead. :)

    Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

    Hope this helps, :)

You saved my motherboard swap :-)

I thought I did everything right, but was still getting blue screened.

Now, thanks to your utility and instructions, I'm up and running again on my Win7 hard drive.

New motherboard, new cpu, 32 gig of Ram.

    Thanks!

    Hello.

This is quite lovely and much easier to face than other so-called instructionals.

I have two ... ish ... questions. First, do I need a double layer DVD to burn a Win7 64 bit sp1 ISO?

Second, I think I can just copy my original install disk to said DL DVD. Would it make more sense to burn my ISO to a DVD stick? Assuming I can find a How-To that's as nice as this one.

As usual and as always, thanks.

    -G.

    Hello Gorham,

A standard 4.7 GB DVD would be plenty to burn a 64-bit Windows 7 w/SP1 ISO file to.

I would recommend to burn the ISO to the DVD to have it be bootable. :)

I don't understand the different types of DVD's so am wondering if mine is ok for this? I have a partial package of these that were given to me.

    Hello Grits,

Yep, that'll be fine. Just about all DVD burners support that format. :)

If you like, here's a good article to help explain all the different DVD formats. :)

Hello rayquest, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

If this is for creating Windows 7 installation media from an ISO, then you might see if the tutorial below or a USB may help instead.
