I have just realised that there are 2 program files on here, one with x86 and one without??
I am using the same one as shown, but not able to do anything?
When I retry it I cannot even get the Take Ownership to work??

OK NOW SORTED

I did it for a third time I believe the same way and it worked, so thanks all for your time and patience..

Works - phew!

First of all - 2 thank you's: Thanks to Shawn for replying, and thanks to the person who had the WM.zip downloadable!

I really dislike Windows Live mail - no toolbar buttons, and the search field is off. I really didn't like it. I have Outlook 2007 too, but it's too big and slow for my taste. I really missed Windows Mail!

I did the ownership and copying time and time again, nothing worked. I now downloaded the WM.zip that was linked here, and it works like a dream now!

Thank you!! This makes Windows 7 much more enjoyable to me!

Kind regards,
Celia

Using Vista Windows Mail in Windows 7

Thanks for the tutorial, it's just what I was looking for as I prepare to move on to Windows 7. I don't want my mail in the clouds!
However, I'm wanting to move from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit.
Will my Windows Mail files from 32 bit Vista work in Windows 7 64 bit? Anyone know?
I'm thinking of installing Vista 64 bit first, grabbing the Mail files and then installing Windows 7. But it's long-winded if you don't have to!

The steps go well until trying to open windows mail, but it fails, stating it cannot find the mail database. Naturally, it did NOT give me the name of the database file so I cannot search for it.

Does anyone have the problem when you create a mail in WM and save it, it ends up being sent from WLM? I tried to change it in properties but that did not work.
Also, the saved shortcut for the that saved mail in WM, when you click on it it opens the WM and not the email saved?

Should I un install WLM?
