Wow thats great news mutant. Thanks for posting back and letting us know that you solved this. SF has very good tutorials. Also if you search this forum you can find almost any problem concerning windows 7 that has come up since the beta. I hope you enjoy 7.
I use Win Live Mail desktop, I did the easy transfer program and It transfered all my mail from my isp account that I had folders of in the 7 rc install that I had going. Not sure if it could help you but you might try to save your mail with Windows Easy Transfer to a external drive. Then do the tutorial to restore Windows Mail. Then do the transfer. Good luck to you and welcome to SF
I've merged the reg hack in order to take ownership of the WM folder, but, when trying to delete the folder, I receive an error message stating that I require permissions from myself(current user w/admin privileges), in order to make changes to this folder.
Conversely, if I open the WM folder, highlight everything, right click and choose take ownership, the process runs and appears to complete successfully, however when I highlight again and choose 'delete', I receive another error stating that 'I require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this file(every file in the folder).
I've tried to find a way around this , but, so far, I've had no luck. And essentially the same error on multiple machines.
Not sure what to do here.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated..
Thanks in advance.
Hiya,
I also had to rename the Windows Mail folder to something else, then I pasted the "Vista" Windows Mail. However, trying to open Windows Mail makes Windows 7 freeze and just generally slows down completely.
Any ideas?
Hello Siljel, and welcome to Seven Forums.
You might consider using Windows Live Mail instead since Windows Mail support is fading and will not be supported at all in Windows 7 by Microsoft.
If you decide to, then these can help with importing your Windows Mail messages and contacts.

Can I get Windows Mail into Win 7 that was not upgraded? A clean install by Acer?
I assume this will not work for me?
Also the gadget bar is nice.
