Hi! Excelent app. Only that "Show desktop" issue is bothering me.

I've an idea. It seems like the "Show desktop" button emulates "Win+D" hotkey. But when I hit the "Win+M", it does pretty much the same thing but the taskbar is STILL VISIBLE!

Is there a way to change the behaviour of "Show desktop" button to same as the "Win+M" hotkey?

Hi guys, a quick thanks for this great little program, but sadly MS has released an update that has broken its functionality. Is there any chance of an update? The amount of anger it causes that MS did not give an option for the toolbar to be BEHIND what you are working on is pathetic and idiotic. Why do I need to have a toolbar over my work? I do not want it to hide I have tools that show me certain information that is necessary to a normal days work. Good to know there are guys like you out there fixing MS shoddy practices. Don't get me wrong Windows 7 Is amazing in comparison with what came before, but still these silly oversights make it a real pain at a user lever.

Thanks for your time, HURRY THIS IS SO ANNOYING 8-)

The latest updates have broken DisableTaskbarOnTop for me as well...

Running: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 w/ Classic Shell 3.1.0.

Looking forward to an updated version! Thanks Tweaker!

Quit working with latest update

Hi, I came in this morning to find that Microsoft had updated my OS and that the program will no longer function. Usually I can run it as a Vista app and restore the functionality but this time it looks like the software does not recognize the OS. Can you please look into this? I love your fix for this annoying Windows problem. Thank you!

Same here as others are seeing. Windblows update broke this. Any chance of an update?

Anyone know if the source is floating around somewhere, maybe it just needs a compile against the newer version?

Cheers,

Darren

So because of warnings here, I tried to not apply the patch for Windows Explorer in the last batch of updates, but I guess I'm not sure there is a way to do that... after deselecting it in Windows Update, it installed anyway

And I'm not sure where tweaker is hiding out these days, maybe taking a well-deserved vacation, or working desperately hard to keep his job in these economic times, but... he hasn't posted here in the last few days since the last update to Windows broke his nice tool.

So after a couple days of withdrawal, I got to poking around and found Download Always on Top - Keep Any Window Visible Always and wondering if it could be tweaked into something helpful. I'm not an AutoHotkey expert, so maybe someone can find something less intrusive that would do the job, but for now I came up with this, which seems to help somewhat (I've only been using it a few minutes):

#Persistent
SetTimer enablemacros, 10
return

enablemacros:
WinSet, AlwaysOnTop, Off, ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
WinSet, Bottom,, ahk_class Shell_TrayWnd
return

I've attached a compiled version ~200Kb which should do the same thing, for people that don't have AutoHotkey installed. This probably uses more resources than tweaker's patch, but may be less dependent on the version of windows explorer. It may not work as well either, but it seems to be helping here.

EDIT: Note that seventab posted better code in message 151: Taskbar Always On Top - Disable or Enable

Well, it still seems to be helping here, after all day's use. Anyone else try it out? I only have one machine to test it on.

Yes, tweaker puts his latest at the top, each release. But it has been broken by the latest updates to Windows 7, a few days ago.

I developed a workaround that may be somewhat independent of Windows 7 updates, but may or may not work as well as tweaker's solution. Seems to be working adequately here, for a couple days now. My workaround is a couple posts back (on page 11, when I posted it).
