I don't think this is getting an update any time soon. I am going to remove the update that causes problems so I can use this for now.

Can anyone disassemble this? I would like to see it get an update.

I sent my feedback to microsoft regarding the taskbar stuck on top. I suggest you all do the same and some day we might see an option added in a future update.

Removing KB2515325 works.

Thank you gvannucci for pointing out the offending patch (KB2515325). Rolled back three machines and they all work!

I was successful in rolling back (uninstalling) the offending update. Everything seems to work well for me now.

Go to: Control Panel|Windows Updates|Installed Updates|Microsoft Windows

Locate update KB2515325 and uninstall it.

I have not experienced any problems after uninstalling that update (or before it was installed automatically by Windows Update). Let me know how/if it works for you.

This was a new computer that I recently bought for my wife. Out of laziness, I had not yet disabled automatic updates. I have been keeping automatic updates disabled on all my systems for many years now, and that prevents this kind of hassles. I manually install updates only when I need to (for example, if I need to install a new piece of software that requires updates).

Many years ago, my research group had scheduled an important demo of our experimental software for an important customer. We checked out everything the day before, but, on demo day, our software did not work. After the failed demo, it took us a few hours to find out that, during the night, Sysadmin had updated our OS, and that was the cause of the problem. That day, we disconnected our lab computers from the corporate LAN, and, since then, I have worked very comfortably with automatic updates disabled. This most recent event has reminded me that I should continue to do so.

Great information. I uninstalled windows update KB2515325 and now I'm able to run DisableTaskbarOnTop64.exe again.

Thanks...

Un-installing the Windows update worked for me too.

Thanks gvannucci. I also uninstalled KB2515325 and tweaker's program works again. When I checked for new updates I then noticed KB2515325 is optional and safe to hide.

This was a pain in the a**. I don't know why msoft would remove functionality, especially something going way back. It would be no effort to continue. Is this a new moralism?

How do you remove the KB2515325 win update?

Thanks
