That's very odd. I used ATI 11 and it backed up a bit under 1gb per min - faster if you select High Priority setting - tho. it is relatively heavy on resource usage - compared to Paragon and Macrium.

Hello Sygnus,

No, it will not wipe out your other partitions. Only the ones selected when the system image was created.

Thanks Brink. That's good to know.

@ SIW2

Are we talking full or incrimental backups. That makes a difference (i think). At any rate I "might" load up ATI 2009 and see what it does, though I have heard it may have some issues under Windows 7 so...

Peace

You may be right about 2009. ATI 11 works OK.

Just normall full partition backups. Imo ATI is not that great.

Paragon goes at 1.1gb on normal priority and uses far less resources.

Macrium resource usage is similar to Paragon at normal proirity.

High Priority on Macrium backs up at 2gb/min. That's the fastest you can get .

System images are save in incremental backups. It only makes a difference as for which dated bacjup image you select to restore. It will still only restore the hard drives and partitions selected when the image backup was created.

I think he was asking if I did Full or incremental at that speed with ATI.

I could be wrong - it wouldn't be the first time.

Sorry if this sounds dense, but .... if I take a full system image of my C: (boot) drive with the Windows 7 options, can I then create a bootable clone of my system by restoring to a second D: drive installed on my pc?

Hello Spokes,

If you restored with the system image, it will replace the same drive letters and partitions that you selected. It will replace your current Vista instead of installing on your D drive.
