How to Change RAM in a Laptop

Ever wanted to ugrade your ram on your laptop, but dont know how to do that? Follow this easy guide then :)


   Note


For this you will need:

* Ram sticks supported by your Laptops motherboard (Run SIW to find out). Also they have to be Laptop ram sticks and not desktop ram sticks

* A laptop

* A screwdriver which matches the screws needed to be screwed out to access the motherboard





   Warning
Remember to shut down your pc, unplug it and remove the battery! (note, i forgot to remove the battery below )

Also press the power button after removing the battery to filter out any charge still in the laptop




Getting Access to the motherboard/Ram Sticks


1. Turn over your laptop, and find the place where you can access your motherboard from.

2. Unscrew the screws, and remove the plate. You're now ready to install your new ram.
Installing the new Ram


1. First remove the old ram, this is done by clicking it out by dragging the two pin at each site further out, the ram should pop-up when doing this
2. Now put in the new Ram stick, and press it down to your hear a click

3. You have now installed the ram stick and you can go on to the next step


Finishing Up

1. Put the plate back to where it was before you started

2. Screw the screws in again
3. Put the battery in the Laptop

4. Turn over the Laptop

5. Turn on the PC and now your newly installed ram should show when you run SIW or speccy inside Windows
