How to Enable or Disable Internet Explorer Individual Tabbed Browsing Taskbar Preview Windows in Windows 7

This will show you how to enable or disable the individual taskbar preview windows in IE8 and IE9 when using tabbed browsing.

If enabled, each tab used will have it's own individual preview window when you hover over the IE icon on the taskbar. If disabled, only one preview window will show on the taskbar when you hover over the IE icon, no matter how many tabs you are using.

This is enabled by default in Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9.

To Enable:

1. Go to Tools in the Menu Bar in IE8 and select Internet Options.

2. Under the General tab, go to Tabs - Settings.

3. Place a check mark in the box labeled - Show Previews for Individual Tabs in the Taskbar. Click OK. Exit and Restart IE.

To Disable:

Repeat Steps 1-3 above. At Step 3, remove the check mark from Show Previews for Individual Tabs in the Taskbar. Click OK. Exit and Restart IE.
