ive tried following this tutorial, but ive ran into some trouble.
im using a ~10 year old plasma TV with a dvi output, and i know it can support 1080i on 60hz because it does so for my streamer,
    however,
i created a standard timing profile for 1920/1080 with 60hz refresh rate,
and updated the driver as insturcted,
and when i try to change to the new resolution through the screen resolution screen,
i get "out of range" on my tv,
i am not an expert on any of this, and would rather not fiddle with the advanced timings without some guidance,
i wasn't quite able to follow what was said in this thread so any help would be welcome.

Attached are 2 EDIDs i have created:
mar - standard timing profile created, on profile number 6
mar2 - i tried fiddling around with the advanced timing options, but i havent tried actually using it as the driver

Hello everyone. First i want to thank original poster for this miracle cure for win7 refresh rates. It helped me with my crt in the past, but recently i got mitsubishi 21diamondtron crt that can achieve refresh rates of 160 hz in 800x600 and 140hz in 1024x768.I use this monitor as secondary monitor, when i play games. Now my problem is that when i use phoenix tool and try to change resolutions to 140hz i get message that it can set resolutions only between 60hz and 123hz. Here is the picture.

Is there any way to change this to 140 hz? What I also noted is that, sometimes, when i try to load modified inf file, after the system restart it recognize my crt as "Generic Non pnp Monitor". This is the best scenario for me because than i can choose from any resolution and refresh rate I want for my crt. The only problem is that from time to time, after i restart computer (like now for example :/ ) it starts to recognize it as it is and i have no longer luxury of higher refresh rates.
    So my questions would be
1.Is there any way to clock monitor refresh rate higher than 123 hz?( that would be better option)
2.Or is there any way to set my secondary monitor(crt) to always be recognized as "Generic Non pnp Monitor"(that would also be fantastic solution)
    Best regards.

    Stuck on Step 2

Hey guys, I'm a little stuck on Step 2. You see, when I click the registry tool-bar button, the list is empty. I should also mention that I'm running VirtualBox. Would it work if somebody gave me a reference EDID file to edit?

    Doesn't work properly

I tried this for my second monitor but it didn't work properly.
When I reboot my pc both monitors run the startup but when I get to the account selection my second monitor turns black. Also the resolution on my first monitor is messed up and I have to manually change it.
(When I open device manager I can now only see one monitor registered.)
Hope you can help me with this,

    Emieligeter.

To @Baarod or anyone can help about detailed resolution

I would like to create a detailed resolution based on my monitor's default but in higher refresh rate but i do not know what values to give in Phoenix

I would also like to see if i can create a lower detailed resolution, for example my monitor's native is 1680x1050 at 60hz, but i would like one at 1280x960 or 1280x1024 at 70 or 75hz...

    Anyone can help, speak freely

    Phoenix monitor problem

When I click on the reg edit button in the Phoenix.exe and select a monitor, it says "Invalid EDID". Do you know what I can do about that?

I know it's been a couple of years since this has been made (Almost 10, wow!) But for some reason when I try to extract the edid from the registry I get an error message saying that it's invalid... Would the be due to the program possibly not supporting w10?

    Thank you so much

I know the OP will probably never see this. But Ive got to thank you for writing this program. I just went through a nightmare saga of getting my old TV to run with my fresh windows install and my nvidia drivers. I spent close to 20 hours reinstalling windows, drivers, formatting all my drives. All because windows no longer recognized my monitors actual values. Your program and tutorial let me force my way in and make the nvidia drivers read my actual monitor values which were different from the ones windows was feeding it. You literally saved me from throwing my PC off a building.

Thank you so much man who Ill never know.

This is really interesting information. I'll just add my part about somethign called HDCP High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection - Wikipedia. This crap can mess things up and if so try something like an HDCP stripper. Read more about this here: Tweaking4All.com - How to remove HDCP from HDMI signal ...

Leave it to the damn greedy MPAA and RIAA.
