No Virtualization Technology I'm sorry, I don't have the Virtualization Technology in my netbook.
Is there any other option without that?
Is there an estimated date when Win 7 will be officially released?
I guess that, after that, we will be able to find compatible drivers, right?
Thanks!! | My System Specs

Hello Cecy, and welcome to Seven Forums.
I'm sorry, but this would be a incompatible CPU hardware issue that you are having that does not support virtualization instead of Windows 7 or drivers.
You might see if you are able to use Virtual PC 2007 SP1 instead though to create a XP virtual machine with.
Hope this helps,

Hi Guys

I run an e8500 on a Asus P5q3.
Intel ID check says the chip can
Bios says Virtualization Tech is enabled.
I did load Virtual XP mode first though. Is that the issue?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Maybe i need to try SunMicrosystems called VitualBox? | My System Specs | | OS 7232 090610-1900 CPU E-8500 Motherboard Asus PQ3 Memory 4 g Graphics Card Nivedia EVGA 9800GT |

Hello Sands,
Windows6.1-KB958559-x64 should be installed first, then XP Mode. You might see if unistalling XP Mode will allow you to afterwards.
What error message, if any, are you getting? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel i7-980X 3.3 Ghz (3.48 Ghz OC'd) Motherboard ASUS P6X58D Premium Memory 12 GB (2GBx6) DDR3 PC3-16000 2000 MHz Kingston HyperX Graphics Card Sapphire HD5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB Sound Card Realtek HD Audio ALC889 Integrated Chip Monitor(s) Displays 3x 27" Asus VE278Q Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution Mouse Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution PSU OCZ Series Gold OCZZ1000M 1000W Case Corsair Obsidian 800D Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Copper CPU heat sink w/120 MM Hard Drives 160GB OCZ RevoDrive X2

One question is how to remove both once you have them on. There's no uninstall option for either to allow you to reinstall the Virtual PC first on the second attempt ahead of the XP mode. There's no listing for either seen in the Programs+Features as well as not seeing an uninstall option in the Start>All Programs folder.
Another thing would be installing the Virtual PC a second time to overwrite the first in order to correct any problems seen with the first install. You would follow that following a full system restart which most forget to do in order to install the XP mode the second time. Again a full restart will be needed for the initial startup. Sometimes it takes a few reboots before it will suddenly start running. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2

There is a listing to remove it. Microsoft Virtual Machine(might be PC). Then just erase the virtual disks if you want. | My System Specs

Virtual Windows XP is seen and maybe tied into both while the Virtual PC item itself is not seen there. Removing the XP mode and restarting the system before seeing the second install of that might work. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2
