Hello Elition, have you checked to see if your cpu and bios support virtualization? Both Intel and AMD compatibility checking tools are on the link at the top of the guide here for verification.

Okay.. so basically, I uninstalled the update - restarted - re-applied the update - restarted - no go.
I even uninstalled XP mode and re-installed it. Still getting the same darn error code. Elition,
Before you do this, check in Task Manager to see if you have this process running. If you do, close (End Process) it before installing Windows XP Mode. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel i7-980X 3.3 Ghz (3.48 Ghz OC'd) Motherboard ASUS P6X58D Premium Memory 12 GB (2GBx6) DDR3 PC3-16000 2000 MHz Kingston HyperX Graphics Card Sapphire HD5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB Sound Card Realtek HD Audio ALC889 Integrated Chip Monitor(s) Displays 3x 27" Asus VE278Q Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution Mouse Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution PSU OCZ Series Gold OCZZ1000M 1000W Case Corsair Obsidian 800D Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Copper CPU heat sink w/120 MM Hard Drives 160GB OCZ RevoDrive X2

I've run into that or a similar error with another virtualization program due to a dual instance while you are running into installation problems with repeat attempts leaving another instance open. Once you end the process like Shawn indicated you may want to verify you can run the XP mode if you haven't already.
The updates will still go on but not run for that reason. Another thing that cause it to stall is installing the XP mode first before the Virtual PC goes on and you restart the system in order to have the installer configure the update. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2

Going to try both of you guys suggestions now. Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Alright, well I tried Night Hawk's suggestion about removing the update, then letting the installer configure it. All it did was say I didn't have the update and directed me to the website where I need to download it.
Next, I tried ending the Virtual PC Host then proceeding with installing Windows XP Mode, I got to the same spot as I had before, right when I clicked "setup" it gave me this error: | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Phenom II X3 720 with 4th Core Unlocked Motherboard GA-MA770T-UD3P Memory 4GB G.Skill DDR3-1333 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 260-216 (NVIDIA) Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays 19" ASUS 1680x1050 + 32" VIZIO HDTV 1336x768 Screen Resolution 19" ASUS 1680x1050 + 32" VIZIO HDTV 1336x768 PSU Corsair 650W Case CM-690 Cooling Fans Hard Drives 1 Western Digital 640GB

Yes, my CPU supports AMD-V. I really have no idea what else on my computer that would be using virtualization.
OTHER then XP Mode. This is a real bummer. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Phenom II X3 720 with 4th Core Unlocked Motherboard GA-MA770T-UD3P Memory 4GB G.Skill DDR3-1333 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 260-216 (NVIDIA) Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays 19" ASUS 1680x1050 + 32" VIZIO HDTV 1336x768 Screen Resolution 19" ASUS 1680x1050 + 32" VIZIO HDTV 1336x768 PSU Corsair 650W Case CM-690 Cooling Fans Hard Drives 1 Western Digital 640GB

Did you restart the system once the XP mode was reinstalled before trying to run it? Thinking back besides the other vm program the first attempt with the beta also saw the same or similar error where a restart of the system suddenly saw the XP mode come to life.
first of all here however look over the processes in the task manager like Shawn mentioned before to see if you have a second instance configured to run when Windows loads. You may end up unchecking the VPC or XP mode in the msconfig to see it work with a manual startup since you wouldn't have anything already loaded. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2

I checked in msconfig and didn't see anything with virtual in it or something to do with xp mode. However, there is 1 thing in Services that is called "Virtual Disc". Should I disable
that?
EDIT: So I disabled it, and that did nothing. I continue to get the same error. uggg. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Phenom II X3 720 with 4th Core Unlocked Motherboard GA-MA770T-UD3P Memory 4GB G.Skill DDR3-1333 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 260-216 (NVIDIA) Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays 19" ASUS 1680x1050 + 32" VIZIO HDTV 1336x768 Screen Resolution 19" ASUS 1680x1050 + 32" VIZIO HDTV 1336x768 PSU Corsair 650W Case CM-690 Cooling Fans Hard Drives 1 Western Digital 640GB

No! You would need that available in order to run the XP mode.
Take a close look at the "Control Panel>Administrative Tooks>Computer Managemt>Services + Applications>Services" section and scroll down to the Virtual Disk item you should be seeing there. You'll notice it should be seen as "manual" not automatic.
If you find that as automatic right click on the item there and select the manual option. That will prevent an automatic loading when Windows first starts up all services since that would cause a problem if everything went on as it should. The item in the services tab as well as the manual setting in the image there is seen with the XP mode in working order here for cross reference. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2

At least you can now rule out anything auto loading along with Windows. Unfortunately it may be with the present installation of 7 itself since you've already tried removing everything for a clean install of both the VPC and XP mode and still run into good one alright. Hopefully Shawn will have a few ideas on this. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2
