Okay, after some searching i found a download but the installer stops at step 5 with the error "the file could not be written" followed by the "hard disk could not attached to the virtual machine. Please check the values provided and try again.". When i press okay it ask i get a wizard to create a new virtual hard drive but that isn't working either , any ideas?

Okay I'm a bit confused here.
I'm on a 64 bit machine, the xp program I want to run is 32 bit.
Is this what I need to download/install:
Windows 7 (64bit) > Virtual Machine 64 bit > Windows XP Mode (32 bit) > 32 bit program inside of the VM.

Well, I just intalled the XP mode without first installing the Virtual PC(since I can't find it). It installed, but I have no Idea how to change it's settings since it needs to be shut down first, but once you shut down there's nowhere to change the settings...because I don't have virtual PC installed. lol | My System Specs

Hello Copernicus,
This tutorial below will show you how to change the settings, but you will need to have Windows Virtual PC (step 1) installed first though. Yea, figured, I've used virtual pc before(earlier versions). I installed this to run a program, which turns out runs fine through windows 7, I was just installing it wrong.
I'm so awesome. ha. | My System Specs

#29 | | Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 |
If you look back on the thread here you'll see how I partitioned the two drives(ix64bit,1x32bit) seeing a recovery partition of just over 100gb there. The latest Virtual pc to be available in two days. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/vir...c/default.aspx
That will a plus for the 64bit 7 more then the 32bit here however. With XP out of the equation just a few XP programs that will install and run on the 32bit 7 won't run once installed on the 64bit. For those not being able to get things going with the older programs on 7 at all that along with the XP mode will make life a bit easier in general. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, MS XP Mode, VBox, VMLite Workstation, VM Player 4.0 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 Deneb 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 Memory Mushkin Enhanced DDR3 1600 8gb 1.5v-1.7v Graphics Card MSI Radeon 5750 1gb Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen Screen Resolution 1440x900 native Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor Mouse MS Trackball Explorer PSU Corsair 750TX Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives WD Black Edition 1tb Sata 6.0 = 2
