Thanks for the tutorial! It helps a lot and I do need the QL (and no, I don't think that pinning to the taskbar achieves the same purpose)!
However, here's my experience on the QL disappearance - it stays where it is as long as nothing major happens to the system, i.e. nothing gets installed. If I install a new theme - say by downloading from the MS Windows 7 site - sometimes the QL disappears on the next reboot. It has also disappeared after I have installed Samurize - although it now runs fine along with my Samurize config. Why would it disappear after a theme or a program would get installed - I do not know. | My System Specs |

I could create the Quick Launch. It was placed in the System Tray area as the tutorial indicates. My problem is how to move it adjacent to the Start button as is the case with Vista. I think I am following the step 8, B) but the Quick Launch does not move.
I wonder what I am doing wrong. Could anyone help?
Edit: I could manage to do it.

Thanks to this tutorial I could turn on the Quick Launch. However, for some reason it was undone by the process of rebooting the system. I brought back the Quick Launch following the same procedure again but to no avail. Hellow Brink,
I did what you suggested and found no such problem on the new account. I turned on Quick Launch once again on the original account but the same problem repeated.
There must be something wrong with the personal profile for the original account. One solution is to rebuild a new personal profile from scratch. But is there any further suggestion to possibly pin point what the cause of this problem is? If so I would rather pursue that rout even though it takes more time than rebuilding the profile. | My System Specs | | OS W7 Ult x64 CPU Phenom II x4 970 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL x2 Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD5770 Sound Card Asus Xonar DS Monitor(s) Displays 24' x2, Gateway FPD2485W, Dell UltraSharp U2410 Screen Resolution 1920x1200 PSU Corsair VX450W 450W Case Cooler Master STORM Scout Model: SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Cooling Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Hard Drives Hitachi 1TB/7200rpm HDE721010SLA330
