If so, try the other options below as well to see if one of them may unlock it to show the dotted separator lines.

I attached mine with the dots on each side of the Quicklaunch bar for reference.
There should be no checkmark in the space in front of "Lock the taskbar" in the context menu.
The screenshot shows how it appears, and in red, how it should not appear if it's unlocked.

Regardless of the appearance, can you grab and move the toolbars around as described in the tutorial?

Edit: Sim posts! ^-^

Tried all the options including the registry add, still no dotted lines, so there is no place to grab.

Gary,

Strange.

Did you restart the computer after merging the REG file in Option Three?

Did you or any installed programs may have applied any tweaks that may have affected the taskbar?

You might see if running a sfc /scannow command may help. If this only start recently not having the dotted line, then you might consider doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this started.

Shawn, Chimel I have it figured out. When I Add a new tool bar then the dotted lines appear when unlocked. I don't have a Quick Launch tool bar but pinned items to the task bar.
