Hello LPt, yes I believe it should; just be aware that any data on any SSD / HDD you do this to will be COMPLETELY over-written and will not be recoverable.

BFK.. this is my Windows XP.. the one I messed up recently.. I removed a vital program .. while un-installing a music converter program.. thinking the SEARCH item was from the converter program ....I promptly... un-installed it after the converter was gone.. that was the last time I could get back in my XP..
I took it in to the tech guy..to re-installed..or repair... he did try a repair .... it's slow... no sound..I can't get my updates NOR SP3 back on it.. both of which are important to me..
I want to use it again. I like it better than my new Acer laptop for daily use.
Thanks for your reply.

Can you take SSD out of the headline as it is causing some to think they need an SSD to follow these steps when they apply to all HD's.

If so, this will also save a lot of typing. Thanks again for the timesaver!!
