Great news. There's no need unless you just wanted to.

    Big problem for me here.

The uninstall itself seems to go smoothly, but when I restart my computer there's only a black screen with the cursor arrow and nothing else. The machine restarts on its own in around 60 seconds, and the next boot takes me to the startup repair tool. The only way to fix the system is to restore it to the state from before the uninstallation of SP1.

Do I have to remove all updates that were installed after SP1 for this to stop occurring?

    Hello Xfing,

Considering how many updates were installed since the SP1, I would no longer recommend to uninstall the SP1.

You should be able to do a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you did this to undo it.
