VMWare7

Iv looked around, and it seems others have had this issue on Windows 7 x64 editions.

It says:

Failed to write registry key
Installer
Error 1021

Iv looked around for a way to fix, but nothing. Anyone have any ideas on how to wokr around this?

PS: Iv tried running in compatiblity mode.

I know this may be a dumb question but you are running this as administrator correct?

Of course. It was required, weather i clicked run as admin or not.

I even tried setting the permissions to the registry key for everyone on the system.

Reading in this thread: VMware Communities: Workstation 7 installer error 1021 ..., try right-clicking on the setup executable, clicking on the compatibility tab and see if clicking on Run As Administrator in there solves the issue. Also, I was researching some and found that version 7.0.1 seems to resolve this so you may want to consider downloading the latest version 7.1.1 as your license will allow you to use it (assuming you aren't already trying to install 7.1.1).

Right off the VMware Website. Just click on "Download Workstation" at VMware Workstation Product Support and you should be able to download it. You may need to create a login if you don't already have one for VMware.com and then you should be able to download the latest version.

Yes actually it does. And I was able to install it fine before I did a clean install of the same OS I have now.
