Outlook is a pain so using OE in XP Virtual Machine

    Hi all
Might be crazy but I really don't like Outlook -- I've stuck with it for a while but I really miss the uncluttered screen and simplicity of Outlook Express. I've tried T'bird - didn't like it and HATE Windows Live Mail so I fired up a very small (512 KB) XP virtual machine and just use OE in that for my email client.

This is one reason why I just LOVE Virtual Machines -- you can use them for almost anything -- even for simply running an email client.

On a 4 GB laptop the overhead is minute.

I'm using vmware workstation but vmware player would be fine or even VBOX.

I don't like XPmode -- great idea but very poorly implemented -- the only bonus I can see is that you get a free XP system but I'm using an XP PRO system from an older computer for my Virtual XP system. MS will re-activate when you say you want to transfer the OS (full retail version) to a new machine.

    Cheers
