XP Mode Not Showing Up In Start Up Menu

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year!

I only use MACS but I just bought a netbook to run an XP program on. I put in 2 GB of memory, upgraded to 7 Pro, and downloaded XP mode and VPC. 7 seems to be running groovy, but there's no sign of XP or VPC. I don't understand, where is it?

Also, my netbook doesn't have HAV, and the upgrade for computers without it is inapplicable to my system, and my system and 7 is 32 bit.

So what now? Microsoft wants money for their help, but I refuse to pay. I'm so disappointed, but I'm trying to keep my cool.

Please help.

Windows XP Mode should be in a folder called Windows Virtual PC. On my Win 7 Pro X64 system, that's in:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows Virtual PC

It has a target of:

%SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\VMCPropertyHandler.dll,LaunchDefaultVM

Thank you Ztruck, but it's supposed to be in the menu in the Microsoft start up icon when you click on "All Programs." Something is wrong and I haven't a clue what to do because this is the first Windows computer I ever owned. I only understand MACS.

If your computer can't run the update for computers without HAV, and your computer does not support HAV, you can not run XP Mode.

I'll just be putting this netbook up on eBay for sale because it's useless to me.

I'm gonna try to find a notebook running XP. I have no use for the Windows platform but for an important piece of software.

No, because I'm not using an intel Mac. And it would be cheaper for me to buy an XP laptop if I can find one than even a new MAC mini, or Windows laptop I would have to do the same thing in upgrading to 7 pro to run XP.

What a nightmare. But I let my impatience run up and down the ball court with me, so I'll just have to chill out and find an XP laptop somewhere.
