Virtual pc setup freeze

Hi, i am trying to load XP onto a virtual machine.

It seems to instal fine and boots into set up. Then freezes on the screen 'Please wait while setup detects and instals devices such as your keyboard and mouse..'

Any ideas?

Which virtualization software you are using? Virtual PC, VirtualBox, VMware? Which XP edition, I mean I assume it's XP Pro but does the install media already include SP2 or SP3? Are you installing from original install DVD?

Virtual pC. XP sp 3.

Seems it didnt like a USB mouse being plugged in during setup.

Setting it going then unplugging the mouse fixed it.
