Windows 7 VHD boot

When I used VirtualBox and had system failures and/or viruses, I tried to save it with an antivirus. Sometimes it did not help so I had to delete it and create a new one.

Well, I wan't to try the VHD booting on windows 7, but before I start I want to know what happens when my VHD file gets infected by malicious code.
Can I just delete the VHD file and create a new one? as I would do with VBox?

You can, but of course you'll also lose any applications that are installed to the VHD and they would need to be re-installed when you create a new virtual hard disk drive.

Yes I understand.

Is it safer than a VHD in an hypervisor?
