Can't increase window size in XPMode

Installed Virtual PC with WindowsXPMode. Seems to have gone fine but, when I start an application there, it appears in a very small window - too small to really use the application.
In WindowsXP if you press Alt-Enter the application goes fullscreen but this doesn't work , neither does dragging the sides or corner.

Is there an answer

You need to install the virtual pc additions in the guest operating system:

I followed the link to "How to install Virtual PC Additions on a guest PC" and printed it out so that I could carefully follow the procedure.

I could not get past Step 1, !

I started Virtual PC WindowsXPMode. Next instruction "On the PC menu, click "Install/Update Additions". There is no PC menu !!

I can't find it anywhere and nowhere in the voluminous Help files is there any mention of PC Additions and if you enter it in the Search Box, there are four topics none of which have anything to do with PC Additions.

What gives ?

Sorry sagrant, that was my fault. I didn't realize that the post I linked you to was rather old. In Virtual PC, once the machine is running it should be listed under Tools > Integration Components.

---> Install or upgrade the Integration Components package

apologies for the confusion.

Can't expand size of window

Thank you for explaining the confusion. Since I installed WindowsXPMode I had the Integrated additions already but none of them answers my question. I have also explored all the links.

Can we please return to my original question. In Windows XP, if an application opened in a small window, you could expand it to full screen with Alt-Enter. This was particularly necessary with PIF files.

This does not work in WindowsXPMode in a Virtual PC under Windows 7. You also cannot expand by dragging the sides or corners.

Can it be done ?

One week ago I posted my query "Can't expand the window size in WindowsXPMode". I got ananswer the next day saying I had to install Virtual PC Additions with a link to the KB article which I duly read and copied out tomake sure I followed the procedure properly. Spent an hour or two trying to do it but gave up as the instructions made no sense. Replied and reported this and got an apologetic reply. Sorry the answer was out of date. I must install the Integration Package. According to Help, this is automatically installed when you install WindowsXPMode in Virtual PC. I have it and it does not help. Nothing on expanding windows and nothing on a number of other topics listed in the "out of date" article.
I posted areply with this information five days ago. No replies.
It seems to me that Microsoft has provided a crippled WindowsXP mode which does not allow you to do many of the things you could do in the original, although the whole purpose presumably was to enable you to run programs which will not run in 7.
I am pretty disgusted.
