Windows XP mode - how to download and install?

How would I install the Windows XP mode in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit? It is an upgrade version (clean install).

Is this the official download page? :
    Download Windows XP Mode

For steps 2 and 3 it is constantly giving me a download like to WindowsActivationUpdate.exe, even though I have downloaded an ran the file.

I can not figure out how to download the 500MB file. Is it because I only have an upgrade version and not a retail? What else do I need? In the control panel my OS claims it is Genuine. I paid good money for this shitty OS and I want all of my features to work.

Are you using IE to do the download? I don't think I have ever gotten it to work with any other browser. It's first attempting to verify that your Win 7 is genuine then it will allow you to download.

Hmmm... I just tried it from FireFox and the Windows validation passed so that's not the issue. Is your installed version of Win 7 activated? (Nevermind, I see where you said it says it is genuine in the CP).

I just tried it in IE. It keeps asking me to validate Windows. I have no idea how to do it. I assumed entering my CD key after installation of Win 7 and the "Windows is Activate" as well as the "Guieine" crap in the lower left corner of the System Properties page meant I had validated my install.

If this is not the case, what else do I have to do? I am not willing to reinstall my OS. I am not playing MS's stupid games. I paid money for this junk off of MS's Digital River website, and I am not going to buy another copy to get it to work.

Windows 7 is proving to be just as shitty as XP and ME.

    ABC,

You will need to have cookies enabled to validate. You can take a look at step 3 in the tutorial link I posted above for more on this to help. :)
