need help removing virtual hard drive hi I read a guide on deleting VHDs, i followed the steps until disk management where it said to detach VHD, but the VHD isnt showing up in the disk management.
what happened was my school installed a windows 7 enterprise on a vhd for all students, when I boot up I choose whether I want to boot my own windows 7 or the one on the VHD. now I dont go to the school anymore so I want to remove it because it takes up quite a lot of space on my computer.
when I boot into the VHD I can see the drive in disk management however it shows as C drive and has no indication that it is a VHD and cannot be detached.
how do I remove this stuff? can I just delete the .vhd?
I'm running windows 7 home premium 64bit, intel corei7

It should be listed in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features. Scroll to it and click on its name, at the top of the window an uninstall link will be available. Click it and follow any instructions. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Brittechnologies II OS Windows 7 Ultimate X86 SP1 CPU i5-2550K differing speeds depending on the day Motherboard ASUS P8X68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz, 4X4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans @1300 RPM Hard Drives TBA Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Other Info 5 fans, LG Bluray/R/RE, ASUS DVD/R/RW |

This is because it runs on a software virtual machine program and as such isn't a drive. It is simply another program which in this case acts as a separate computer. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Brittechnologies II OS Windows 7 Ultimate X86 SP1 CPU i5-2550K differing speeds depending on the day Motherboard ASUS P8X68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz, 4X4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans @1300 RPM Hard Drives TBA Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Other Info 5 fans, LG Bluray/R/RE, ASUS DVD/R/RW All times are GMT -5.
