How can I change the vhd of XP Mode of Windows7?

I backed-up 3 files with .vhd, vmc, vmcx. of XP mode by cut&past in the same PC of Windows7. Then I uninstalled crushed XP mode and reinstalled it. When I tried to change the "Virtual hard disk file " of "Hard disk1" from default file to backup file at "Setting", the message appeared as below and cannot complete to change the hard drive. This time, my option is "Create" only, no "Modify".

"One of the parent hard disks of 'C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Virtual PC\Virtual Machines\Windows XP Mode (2).vhd' appears to have been modified without using differencing disk."

What should I do to change the vhd?
I have not replaced vmc and vmcx files.

Hallo Shrimp, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Follow instructions in this tutorial. Use your old XP Mode vhd as an existing vhd as described in step 9 of that tutorial.

In step9,I tried to use "Windows XP Mode.vhd" which I backed up, then there was a message, "cannot attach the virtual hard disk to the virtual machine. Check the values provided and try again.". So, I tried "Windows XP Mode base.vhd", and it worked, but of course could not recover any back-up files in it. Is my vhd backup file collapsed?

I found the link below for this matter, which "cannot attach the vhd" case. Does it work for Microsoft XP Mode?

In stead of creating new VM, I tried again from "Setting" changing the vhd as I posted in the beginning. This time, I uploaded base.vhd as well as vhd accordingly at Setting "Hard Disk1" I had problem before. This time it accepted without any interruptions. However, it did not work on "enable integrate features" when XP mode was opening, then clicked "continue", the black screen came up with some limited menu at top. "Enable Integration Feature" at Action was gray and could not be clicked. Also nothing happened "Install integration Components"
I read the forum below. Now should I work with "System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing," which can be found in the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) under Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options?
