XP Mode VHD won't get smaller after emptying recycle bin

Delete files in recycle bin but VHD stays same size and gets bigger.

Hello nycguy,

This is normal for a dynamically expanding VHD. The VHD file will only get as big as the maximum size set for it, but once the size has increased to expand the VHD file, the VHD file will always be at least that size. A VHD will only expand up to the max size and never shrink back.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
