Install XP Mode - ErrorCode 2147942413 Invalid Data Windows6.1-KB95855

I have spent two days on the web reading everything I can find on this subject and have tried many of the suggestions but simply cannot get this update to install. I even went to restore back to before downloading the two XP mode files. Virtual Machine is enabled in BIOS and the MS tool verifies that.

The event viewer has many red errors and some of them say ....

Windows update could not be installed because of error 2147942413 "The data is invalid." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu" ")

I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit with SP1 and all updates since 1-1-11. The Mobo is ASUS M5A88-M with AMD FX-4100 and 8Gb RAM. So far this is the only problem I have been having with software and the PC was put together last weekend. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Cannot get XP Mode to complete SetUP

After discovering that I had downloaded a bad "Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg" file 2 or 3 times, I saw that it was supposed to be 16Mb, and what I had was 161Kb. After that was fixed then I was able to install both the "WindowsXPMode_en-us" and the "Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg" files. BUT the setup will not fully compete. I have attached a pic that shows in Explorer it's state is "running" but yet the setup fails over and over and over. Is there a set up log that I could find to see why it is failing? Nothing in the event veiwer except a warning the XP mode was improperly powered down.

Can you System Restore to before you started the process, to start over?

Yes - have already done that twice. Since it is a new build I had to install quite a few apps over and over. I had a bad download of the XP Mode refresh package twice and then the third time just happened to notice the download size was 10x the size of the second download that was still in my download folder and would not work (161Kb). So that problem got solved and then I did a restore and downloaded it again since the restore wiped out the full download (16Mb).
