I have just created XP mode in my windows 7 machine. I am trying to learn how to use XP Mode. I have a few WinXP-software (which does not work in widows 7).
How to instal the sofware within XP mode?
Boot up the Windows XP machine, put in the cd and it should just map through. If it doesn't, you can usually put the software on a USB key and connect the USB key to the computer. Finally, you can use shared folders between the XP host and the Windows 7 machine and copy the installation files over to the XP virtual machine.

after your new software installed on windows xp you can directly run via win 7 program files menu and no need to run it inside xp . i think xp will run in background.
