VirtualBox - "Some audio devices (PCM_in) could not be opened"

I'm trying to use VirtualBox however whenever I start any virtual machines I am presented with this message:
"Some audio devices (PCM_in) could not be opened. Guest applications generating audio output or depending on audio input may hang."

VirtualBox - "Some audio devices (PCM_in) could not be opened"-vbox-issue.png

This happens regardless of which guest operating system is installed or even if there is no guest OS.

What does this message mean? How can I stop it from appearing?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Caleb,
have you figured out that problem with VirtualBox? I'm having the same trouble and it's driving me bonkers.
Please if you figure anything out let me know, and I'll do the same.

    Thanks man,

    Thanks PTBG!
I'll check that out as soon as I get home and report how it works.
