Hello t-4-2,
XP Mode is just a ready made XP virtual machine for Windows Virtual PC. You would still also be able to create your own virtual machine in Windows Virtual PC to run in Windows 7 like you would with any other VM program like Virtualbox or VMWare Player. You could then install the integration features in the virtual machine to be able to share files between the virtual machine and Windows 7.

Downloading Win 8 32-bit Preview to desktop.... as your tutorial instructed... step #1.
Next will be the VMware Player install.
If I run into road blocks, I'll come back to haunt you.

Na, after the ISO is finished downloading, you would just save it to were you would like to keep it at. When you are setting up Vmware Player, you would just browse to and select the ISO from where you saved it at. | | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop
