    USB in Virtual XP Mode

I have a USB soundcard attached which is (or was) the only way to have access to external audio in a previous incarnation of Virtual XP.

This time however none of the USB devices attached to the machine seem to be listed as available.

What I have under USB is:

    802.11n WLan Adaptor .....attach
    myTV1...........................attach
    Unidentified device...........attach
    Unidentified device...........attach
    USB 2.0 CRW...................shared

I don't need the 802.11n or the myTV1 and what on earth is CRW ?

There is a USB soundcard and a camera card reader on the USB, but these are nowhere to be seen. (Both are seen by the host machine).

Cheemag, The default for sound in VPC XP is
    Bus Adapters Multimedia
Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32 or compatible (WDM)

That could be part of your problem, Also, I assume that you have installed the integration components
    for VPC?

SB-16 is there, but that's not a real soundcard which can't take audio from outside.

It shows 'Enabling integration features' at boot, but the list of integrated devices does not show a soundcard. Everything else, but no soundcard.

I have it now: activating the first unidentified device in the USB dropdown now puts a USB sound device in Control Panel/Sounds.

It didn't do that yesterday !

Thanks for your input. I'll come back if it doesn't work.

    That's working now. Thanks again.
