Hi,

OK, its a bit clearer now. You haven't yet setup the VM right?

Follow steps 1 to step 10 to setup the VM, at step 10 you adjust the memory. Also see Derek's screen image he posted above - thats the way to get to the settings.

When you shut down Win8 (which is running in the VM), you are left at the screen that Derek posted (the VMWare screen) - follow his highlight to access the system settings.

Regards,
Golden

Please go over the tutorial I used to install VMware player and Win 8 Preview, and tell me how do I by-pass all the steps and go stright to step #10 to reduce the memory.

You said " Just adjust it like this, after shutting down Windows 8, as shown here."
How could I make adjustment if I shut down Win 8 ?

If you launch VMWare alone not the actual guest machine you will get the window I posted before, from there highlight your win 8 machine on the left, then you will have the option to adjust virtual machine settings I highlighted in yellow.

To Golden...
Follow from step #1 to #10 would mean I have to start from scratch. Yes ?
That is not what I want.

When I Shut down Win 8. It is shut down. It does not go to the window Derek posted.

To Derek....
I do not have Edit Virtual Machine Settings option at the bottom.
I have Help ( View VMware Player's help content ), and the content table does not have Edit option listed.

*******Edit.... I replied to soon. Did not see Derek's last reply.
Yes, I have the edit option at the bottom.
I'll try the memory adjustment and report back.
Thank you.

Hi,

Highlight the VM installation as per Derek's post, - then the system settings tab becomes visible.

Yeah, you have to highlight the vm you want to adjust the settings of on the left, you are highlighted on home in your screen, move it down like mine, and you will get that option.

Memory for VM is reduced to 1 GB.

Win 7 appears to improve in performance.

Thank you to both.

Not that I know of, you must not have made the required amount rep to others needed to rep me again. No big deal, I appreciate the thought and try.
