Windows 7: VirtualBox: Upgrading XP SP2 to SP3

I'm running VirtualBox v.4.1.16-78094 with XP SP2.

How do I upgrade XP SP2 to SP3 using the file Windows XP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe which I have downloaded?

Any special attention must be taken?

Help is appreciated.

Amflores, One nice thing about virtual machines is that you can make a copy of the machine and then if your update goes to hell in a handbasket, you can always just overwrite the virtual machine and start again.

I would update with microsoft update, the download might not be the proper one for your portuguese version.

You don't even need to take a copy. With VirtualBox you can just take a snapshot which takes seconds. If your update goes pear shaped you can roll back to the snapshot in seconds.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for you help.

I only use English versions for most of my software specially Windows and Office. Its much easier for me to comuinicate with forums like Sevenforums when asking for help, than have to translate menu items from portuguese to english.
